Pharmionic Systems

Pharmionic Systems has a unique team of academic and industry experts in key areas including medicine and therapeutics, biostatistics, engineering, production, sales and marketing, and customer support. The company is involved in many clinical trials, patient adherence projects and member of three European consortia: Micro-Nano integrated platform for transverse Ambient Intelligence applications (FP6), Ascertaining Barriers for Compliance (FP7), Real Time Drug Optimal Compliance Project (Eurostars).

Within ICT4Depression, Pharmionic Ssystems will extend its recently acquired expertise through the MINAMI project to using low power technology to enable wireless communication while keeping reasonable battery life of the monitors; this will allow real-time monitoring, as opposed to the commercially available offline monitoring systems. Additionally, PS will bring in the project its large experience in the analysis and interpretation of drug dosing histories in many different therapeutic areas. This expertise will be used for the development of an adherence-enhancing module aimed at the treatment of depression. The final technical challenge will be to develop an appropriate web service that will allow easy integration of the adherence related module(s) in the final project interface.

The Pharmionic Systems team has more than 20 years of experience in developing unique products to measure (MEMS®), analyze (Pharmiosense®), and facilitate (medAmigo®) patient compliance with prescribed drug dosing regimens in clinical trials and clinical practice; and services aiming at measuring, analyzing and enhancing patient adherence/compliance with prescribed therapies, as well as biostatistics, especially related to patient compliance. Pharmionic Systems has an extensive experience in collecting medical records in the pharmaceutical business. It has been successfully audited by major pharmaceutical industries. All the proposed services are in compliance with the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11 Regulations (Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures).
